    1. 4.5 "I Need Me A Lumberjack!" StarsA Reason to Kill is book two in C.P. Smith’s Reason series. I am a huge fan of this author and this is a book that I was very much highly anticipating. I was not disappointed in the least. C.P. Smith has penned yet another wonderfully entertaining and suspense-filled book where our growly and over-protective hero meets his match in a sassy and adorably clumsy heroine. And ladies, if you fell in love with Jack from A Reason to Breathe then you best prepare you [...]

    2. 5 luv to the Maxxx stars“Thor, God of Thunder you may be,” I breathed out, enjoying his lips, “but I’m, I’m Wonder Woman, Queen of Self-control. No way I’ll ever submit to you.” “We’ll see….”Mia RobertsTricked into going on a research expedition by her boss and ex-lover, Mia sets off on the final frontier. She is not meant for the outdoors, or anything that would challenge her to stay upright. She is a klutz, a vertically challenged woman who has a strong fear of bugs, a bi [...]

    3. 4.5 Thor STARSWell, this was just what I needed! I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series and this one was just as good! I was laughing with the humour in this one: had me smiling like a goof half the time. This story is about Mia Roberts, sexy yet clumsy zoologist who is better off behind the desk analyzing research vs. traipsing through the Alaskan woods. However, circumstances bring her to Trails End, Alaska to continue research on the bears in the area.Of course, Mia with her clumsi [...]

    5. 4~4.5 Lumberjack Loving Stars!!!I really, really enjoyed A Reason To Kill as much as I liked the first book in the series A Reason to Breathe, but there was just something a little bit extra in this one, the author’s sense of humor really shines though. In this book we get a sexy lumberjack alpha male and a klutzy cute bear loving heroine.Max Hunter is a Lumberjackyes a LUMBERJACK!!!!. He’s single man who has been hurt in the past and decided it wasn’t in the cards for him to ever really s [...]

    6. This one fell a bit short for me. I really enjoyed the first one but something was missing from this one. Got to about 40% and it just started to drag a bit. I sort of guessed who the killer was too. Will I read more from this author? Definitely. Maybe it was my mood. Another day, I might have liked it better.Loved the epilogue. And would love a story about Jack.

This book had me smiling at page one and kept me totally entertained the whole way through. This book had so much humor; I swear I laughed liked a mad woman while reading. I thought all the characters were extremely well done. What I also enjoyed very much was the setting and the whole small town env [...]

    8. This is an author that I feel like is overlooked. I really enjoyed her first book, and I like this one even more. Granted, she still needs a heavy handed editor. However, the pacing and humor she gives us just does it for me. I love her almost-ott alpha male, most especially when he's a little bit sheepish (just a tiny bit) I love her ditzy, goofy women with hearts of gold and the strength to not only do the right thing, but to love a guy who's not exactly known for being lovable. I felt like Sm [...]

    9. 4.5I have to say that I had some trepidation going into this book. While I enjoyed the author's previous book, I didn't love it. But like the good friend I am, I caved when my friend demanded I buddy read this with her because "it sounds amazing!!!!!!!!" (yes, that's a direct quote).Just as a little recap to my issues with the previous bookwhile I like some books that do quick love/insta-love/love at first sight, it has to be done right. And the previous book was too quick for me. The main chara [...]

    11. 2.5 starsWell, I came back to this book this morning, and unfortunately, I have lost all enthusiasm for it. Which sucks. It had so many funny parts. I guess the event with the waitress killed my enthusiasm. (view spoiler)[Max, Mia and friends are at bar. Max is sitting next to Mia, holding her close (supposedly wanting to spend the rest of his life with her. Annie, the woman he was having sex with for 2 years (and actually had originally planned to take her home the day he met Mia). Obviously, h [...]

    12. 3.5 Stars.Loved Thor, God of Thunder Max and Mia. ❤. And Maxine she was a hoot. Full review to come. :)

    13. In C.P. Smith’s second in the Reasons Series, we meet Max. Hot, all alpha-male lumberjack, get ready ladies because flannel just got fucking sexy. Living in Trails End, Alaska, Max has the life he’s always wanted. Running the logging company that belonged to his father and living the in the wilderness of Alaska where life was simple and beautiful. But that scenery just got a little bit prettier and less simple when a certain dark haired beauty shows up.Mia has always known she wanted to work [...]

    14. 5 Cranky Stars! What a fun read! Not something I would usually say about a murder mystery, but if you take a chance on this one, you will definitely understand where I am coming from. Some of the characters are absolute, well, characters. The dialogue is witty as well. And the murders are actually very well laid out with surprise twists and turns until the true culprit is caught.Set in Alaska, Mia and a group of her peers are sent to check up on her company's environmental study of bears. Mia is [...]

    15. ** 3.5 stars **This author borrows some of her style from KA and I do enjoy her characters but she could actually write a really good book if she toned down her attempts to be so humorous and made her characters and their actions more realistic. The heroine's clumsiness was over the top, the old people sex toy sellers were a bit much (but kind of funny) and the bumbling idiots trying to solve the murders were just unbelievable. But the good parts are the hero was hot, Alaska is a great setting a [...]

    18. 3.5 Stars! While needing a bit of editing, I still found this an enjoyable read. Written in similar style of Kristen Ashley, the author serves up a steamy romance with many laugh out loud moments. Here you'll find a klutzy, adorable heroine, a big, sexy alpha lumberjack, a cast of quirky, lovable secondary characters, and a fairly easy to solve murder mystery. All in all, a fun, sexy read! Definitely will try more in this series!

    19. Even though better than book one I still wasn't really engaged with the story. It was less like a Kristen Ashley knock off which I appreciated. Something was just missing for me.

    20. First and foremost, I need to find myself a lumberjack, pronto. Preferably one who is tall, dark and handsome and goes by the name of Max hunter ;) I have to say, I really enjoyed C.P. Smiths's A Reason to Breathe, but, by far, I found A Reason to Kill way better! I don't know what it was about Mad Max, but he pushed all my buttons in the best ways. (Maybe it had something to do with Wet Max, or better yet, Naked Max ;) )I absolutely loved this book. It captivated my interest from the first page [...]

    21. If he was honest, he had a desire for more than just one-night stands here and there. Desires, dreams, whatever the fuck you wanted to call them, but he had them for the right woman to share his life. Unfortunately, he’d yet to meet a woman who stirred his blood enough to care- until today. Fucking hell3.5+ RATING- I’ve been a fan of C.P Smith since A Reason to Breathe was released earlier in the year. It was a fun debut that showed promise and her follow up novel Restoring Hope (stand-alone [...]

    22. 3.75 starsAnother fabulous read from this author! This book was a HOOT! I laughed out loud so many times I was getting odd looks from people on the bus! *lol* I gave this one a slightly lower rating then the first for a couple of reasons. One, the Annie stuff. It was great to see a hero actually treat an ex with a modicum of respect, as apposed to treating them like crap they want to scrape off the bottom of their shoes, or as nameless faceless whores. That being said, I prefer my angst between a [...]

    24. Geeky Mia Roberts heads a research mission to the small mountain town of Trails End. She and her team research Grizzly bears. Mia is a clumsy, nerdy t-shirt wearing, huge geeky glasses wearing girl. She hides behind those glasses and is terrible with men. Honestly the geeky cartoon t-shirts got on my last nerve. I don't think I could take another Scooby Do reference either!Max took over his family's lumber mill business after his father's death. His company employs almost everyone in the small t [...]

    25. This was an amazing second book to a great series by an author who always seems to blow me away. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end, the story line was great and held my interest. I had guesses of who was "evil but the author kept me guessing. Not only did I like the main characters but this book wasn't just main characters and a load of filler characters, all of the side characters really added to this book and in turn just made this book more interesting and engaging.Max is as much of a [...]

    26. Mia Roberts has a problem that stands six foot five and swings an axe like a God. On assignment to study the grizzlies of the Alaskan frontier, she stumbles across a body and then stumbles into the arms of a lumberjack she can't resistCan you imagine a beautiful alaskan mountain view?A cozy log house?A sexy Alaskan alpha caveman who will do anything to protect you?I was imagining it all while reading this wonderful story. 27. Review: Surj HarveyFacebook: facebook/TheHopelessRBlog: thehopelessromanticsbookblog.bAfter reading a couple of really good but very dark, twisted books, I was after something a little more light hearted. Something that wouldn't have my nerves on edge and my stomach in knots and "C.P Smith's "A Reason to Kill" fit the bill perfectly. Yes I know what you're probably thinking the title sounds the very opposite of what I was looking for but I can hand on heart promise you that Max and Mia's story h [...]

    29. **GIVEAWAY AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE: ENDS 11/29/14**Why Helllllllooo Max! I fell in love with Jack Gunnison back in A Reason to Breathe so when I found out CP was doing a second book on his cousin, Max- A man who has Gunnison blood running through his veins I could not wait for his story. The Gunnison men are all hot, all Alpha, all bossy, and all completely to die for. "It's more like watching these bears during mating season. You cross your arms, glaring, while Max stomps his scent into the [...]
