    1. I really enjoyed this book. I normally do not like stories that move back and forth in time, but this story was made more interesting because of it. The characters were well developed and I thought the deep south voice was authentic. The author chose some very hard subjects to write about - racism, homophobia, child abuse - and I thought she did a good job of showing the pain, strength, and scars left in their wakes. I recommend this book if you want to feel a variety of emotions.

    2. I was delighted with this novel from Teresa Stores. Her use of language, the fragmented style, part dream, part flashback, flash forward, part delusion, fiction made to tell the truth, all of it serves the story. As a writer, I found it instructive as well as refreshing.

    3. Love it so far. It's nice to see a mix of perspectives- Vermont and the Deep South. Plus I got to meet the author!
